Neonatal units like ours specialise in the care of babies born early, with low weight or who have a medical condition that requires specialised treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The standards for today\u2019s special and intensive neonatal care baby units across the country have their roots here in Birmingham when one of our maternity doctors, Dr Mary Crosse, established the first incubator cots in the 1930s.<\/p>\n<p>Today the tradition of pioneering patient care for some our most vulnerable patients continues.
