That\u2019s why they are so thrilled that the Maternity and Neonatal team have now scooped the MUM (Maternity Unit Miracles) award for the West Midlands region<\/p>\n<p>Amanda suffered two very difficult pregnancies and sadly lost her first daughter Erin in 2010 at 25 weeks. She went on to become pregnant once again this time with twins delivering once again when the babies were premature in 2011. Sadly Amanda lost her daughter Lauren, but her son Toby survived and after many difficult months in hospital, he was able to go home when he was 7 months old.<\/p>\n<p>Amanda commented,<em> \u201cHe is a little miracle with everything he has been through and I owe my live and Toby\u2019s life to this great hospital. Although Erin and Lauren sadly didn\u2019t survive, if it wasn\u2019t for the hospital, we wouldn\u2019t have had the precious time we had to get to know them.<\/em><br \/><em>The hospital has been a big part of my life emotionally and I will never forget them as without them I wouldn\u2019t have my precious boy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As a result of this experience on behalf of herself and Toby, Mum, Amanda Swindale nominated the deserving team of Obstetricians, Midwives, Neonatal Nurses and Consultants for a MUM award to recognise the outstanding work of the team there.<br \/>Chief Executive of Birmingham Women\u2019s Hospital, Professor Ros Keeton said, <em>\u201cWe are delighted to have achieved this prestigious award and we would like to thank Amanda for nominating our unit.&nbsp; This award is testament to the care and dedication provided by our staff across the hospital every single day.
