{"id":1494,"date":"2013-10-02T11:57:49","date_gmt":"2013-10-02T11:57:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bwnft.nhs.uk\/?page_id=1494"},"modified":"2015-05-06T11:10:23","modified_gmt":"2015-05-06T10:10:23","slug":"women-s-celebrating-brief-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bwh.timothyblake.com\/?p=1494","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s celebrating brief lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-1493\" style=\"float: left;\" alt=\"CBL\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bwnft.nhs.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/images_M_images_CBL.JPG\" width=\"217\" height=\"126\" width=\"1782\" height=\"1165\" \/>Birmingham Women\u2019s Hospital is inviting people to attend a special ceremony of remembrance on Sunday 13th October. \u2018Celebrating Brief Lives\u2019 is a ceremony arranged for people who have lost a baby in pregnancy or soon after birth.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>This service, held at St Peters Church in Harborne, will be a time for sharing memories of sadness and joy. Often people are reluctant to talk about what has happened after losing a baby, especially in early pregnancy. The service allows people to meet with others who have been through a similar traumatic experience and talk about their feelings in a caring and non-judgemental environment.<\/p>\n<p>Janice Hughes has been attending the service for a number of years and will be speaking at this year\u2019s ceremony, <em>\u201cI started going after I lost my son Jonathan because I feel closer to him when I\u2019m at the service. It\u2019s almost as if I need to go. It means a lot to hear other people\u2019s stories and know that you are not the only one going through this.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bereavement and Spiritual Care Service Manager, Karen Henson explained, <em>&#8220;The service is extended to bereaved patients from all of our religious faith communities and to those with no specific faith. It has been an annual event since 1994.
