Birmingham Hospitals’ Snowdon Challenge

Fearless fundraisers from across the West Midlands are being invited to join four Birmingham hospitals as they come together for the first time to take their fundraising efforts to new heights.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham Women’s Hospital, Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham are joining forces on Saturday 9 May to climb the highest peak in England & Wales – Mount Snowdon.

The first combined charity challenge of its kind, Birmingham Hospital’s Snowdon Challenge will see climbers of all abilities and team sizes digging out their walking boots to scale the heights of the 3,560 ft mountain and raise valuable funds for their chosen hospital.

Participants can take part in the Birmingham Hospital’s Snowdon Challenge as a family, as a group of friends or on their own.

For some it’ll be about overcoming a personal challenge to get up and down the mountain in the fastest possible time, but for others it’ll be about working together as a family or a group to make sure each member of their group reaches the summit and gets back down again. For the little walkers there will be a special ‘activity’ trail to keep them entertained along the way.
The Birmingham Hospital’s Snowdon Challenge has the backing of Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Shafique Shah, who lists Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charities and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity amongst his Lord Mayor’s Charities for 2015.

Councillor Shah said: “I am delighted to support the Birmingham Hospital’s Snowdon Challenge and to see all four hospitals coming together for such a great adventure. These four fantastic organisations support so many people in our region and by taking part you will be helping to make a huge different to the lives of people of all ages.”

The Birmingham Hospital’s Snowdon Challenge is a full-day event, with return transport and lunch included. The registration fee for adults is £30 and for children it is £15 with a minimum sponsorship of £75 per adult for the participant’s chosen hospital.
